South Antrim Community Transport operates a volunteer car scheme. This involves volunteers using their own vehicles to transport our members to a range of destinations throughout our operational area.
The volunteer goes through all the necessary checks and training before commencing his/her role as a volunteer car driver, and is mentored by a volunteer champion within the office, who continually offers support and guidance to assist the volunteer. All volunteer drivers receive a mileage allowance for all trips undertaken on behalf of the Dial-A-lift service to cover the cost of fuel and wear and tear of their vehicle. We are always looking to increase our volunteer driver pool and if you or someone you know would like to give some of their time to supporting the local community, please contact us for further information.
